Hailing from Hutchinson, Kansas, the three-piece

alternative metal band has built its identity around

brutally honest songwriting, massive guitar-driven

soundscapes, and performances that transform personal

Chevelle, Cold, and the modern intensity of Bad Omens

and Bring Me The Horizon, the band has developed a

sound that balances crushing riffs, atmospheric textures,

unforgettable choruses, and raw emotion. Every song is

rooted in real life—exploring addiction, grief, mental

health, redemption, faith, perseverance, and the relentless

fight to overcome life’s darkest moments.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Luke Fitzgerald,

alongside bassist Rhema Fitzgerald and drummer

Jeremy Burnett, Deflecting Ghosts proves that three

musicians can create a sound far bigger than their

numbers suggest. Their live performance combines

precision, energy, and emotional authenticity, leavingaudiences with more than just loud guitars—it leaves

them with a story.

That commitment has been tested far beyond the stage. In

2026, while Luke was battling severe heart failure with

his heart functioning at approximately 15%, Deflecting

Ghosts still made a 12-hour drive to Sturgis, South

Dakota, to perform during the Sturgis Motorcycle

Rally. It was more than another show—it represented the

same perseverance the band writes about: continuing

forward when circumstances give you every reason to

stop.

As an independent band, Deflecting Ghosts has earned

more than 200,000 streams across digital platforms,

received recognition from multiple music publications,

and continues to build momentum through regional

touring, festival appearances, new releases, and a rapidly

growing fan base.
